I have actually been in the San Francisco area before due to a choir trip. I’ve felt the differences in temperature and it was a bit strange to me. One day, it was nice and sunny and the next rainy. In fact, the very last day of my trip with the school’s choir was on Sunday and our plane was delayed due to the rain. What the worst thing of it all was, I had gotten my time of month on the last of day of being in San Francisco. Fun, times. Oh yeah, it was also my first flight ever.

Hmm, I’ve been seeing a LOT of Halloween decorations coming out more and more now because of October and Halloween (my favorite day of the year) approaching us. In fact, I have seen a LOT of Nightmare Before Christmas things like mugs coming out as well. I actually thought about buying one as they were only $9.99 at Walgreens; however, my boyfriend argued with me that they look more like a candle holder than an actual mug even though it clearly stated mug. LOL. I honestly cannot WAIT for the cooler Autumn weather. I’m sick of this hot one day, cold the next day stuff.

That’s awesome, hope the unpredictable Bay Area weather didn’t stop you from enjoying your trip up here. We should get together sometime. :)

October is mine and my brother’s birthdays, five days apart from each other. so it’s somewhat a double family celebration for both of us. Usually, for me, October seems to be my success month of my life, but you know, I want to succeed and reach my goals very soon :)

That’s exactly why I’ll most likely choose not to go with the old subdomain – and maybe keep it for cms-testing (until the day the hosting expires); I’d very much like to keep Flyhigh but I need to save money more, so I’ll have to let it go hence the “search” among my other domains.

To be precise, Hikarimono means Luminous and that’s exactly why I registered the name….and why it ranks first among the three (followed by Cutesky and Kouun – japanese for fortune). ;)

Haha, I translated “hikarimono” from my head, and I know that “mono” is “thing” LOL. I need to brush up with my Japanese more. :( But hey, looking forward to your new blog rebuilding. Let me know if you need a hand on something. :)

It’s been getting chiller here in Texas, and I’m grateful. It is needed after the scorcher known as Texas summer.

After those few days of scorchers, all of a sudden it gotten really cold here too. The sun is still there, but the breeze had gone pretty chilly. Soon I’ll have to wear long sleeves to go to work. ^^

Thank you very much for the tip, but I really don’t have the money to get a reseller package (the minimum required to safely host more than 1-2 domains in one accounts, coming at at least $15-25/mo) and I know nothing about managing a VPS server; thank you for the offer too, but I’ve already found a good provider who’s gonna cost almost a quarter of what I’m currently paying for Flyhigh.
Just thank you very much. :)

I don’t think you understood what I said in my last comment, Lucien. I left you my reply in your blog.

Yeah, I think we had a miscommunication “problem” – probably because my english can suck. :P

I bought the Hikarimono domain and its hosting package a couple of months ago (it’s a quirk, when I buy a new domain I almost always need to get hosting for it), so it’s already set up; I’ve just to upload my site things on it.

I understood your hosting was free – thank you very much again for the offer :) – but I currently own and manage 7 domains under the Lucien webname (alone, then there are a few other projects – mostly testing – I run using my real name), which would definitely require reseller. VPS is the same as shared hosting if you know how to manage it or aren’t the one who does, otherwise it can be a mess. xD

VPS and shared hosting maybe somewhat the same, but quite different, Lucien.

Shared hosting means you would be using the same IP, the same bandwidth, the same memory allocation, the same disk space, etc. etc. It’d be like you living in an apartment complex with the others where you would have to share the same laundry room, the same food/cafeteria, the same pool to relax, etc. etc. It’s like communism in a way, where you have equal share of your resources with everybody else.

VPS hosting means that even though you would be sharing a few resources with others, you actually get to own your own set of resources with an amount completely different from everyone else. It’s like owning a condo. You live in the same building as others, but you own the condo, with your own restroom, your own laundry room, and you’re also responsible with the damages and repairs of your property. Each resource (bandwidth, space, memory, etc.) are allocated in different amounts per domain/project that you own, and that you have complete control of them, unlike with shared hosting, where you have to have the same amount of resources as everyone else. Hope that makes sense?

Yike, that does sound like a scorcher. Just reading about it is making me feel hot. Things have cooled down here, and I’m so happy because I am really not fond of the heat. Indian summers can stay far away from me, thanks! I hope the forest fires won’t go out of hand, either X_X

That’s nice your brother brought back souvenirs for you guys. I do hope your dad will be better and hope you guys will get some good news.

Btw, the painting looks good! I love cherry blossoms, so seeing that made me smile :D It’s good for your very first gouache painting on canvas :) Do share more of your paintings as you do them!

After those two days, the weather cooled down here also, but not as much. The sun is still out and the heat is still present, but very mild. Also today (Sunday), it showered for the first time. Now that is an autumn day. :D

Forest fires are an annual natural disaster for California, like how the hurricane season is an annual natural disasater for the people living on the East Coast and the South (sometimes Central U.S.). Even though it’s still problematic that it hit our forests, one of our main natural resources of survival, we want to contain it as soon as possible so it doesn’t spread to civilization (small towns nearby or residents living in the wild).

I love cherry blossoms too. I have yet to paint a much bigger version of that for my brother’s wedding. His bride-to-be is a fan of cherry blossoms and just Japanese culture altogether. Sounds like she and me were meant to be sisters LOL. ^^

When I do become better at painting, I’ll be sure to share some more. :)
