It’s Monday night, just five days away from the real autumn month: October. However, if you happen to be in the Bay Area around this time, our definition of the first early days of autumn is what you see above. Then again, the Bay Area weather has always been unpredictable of hot and cold. Some non-Bay Areans believe that we may have the most “perfect” weather, where there is not too hot and not too cold weather, regardless of the season that we have right now. Not so. For us, the first days of autumn in the Bay Area has always been what some call Indian summer.
And alongside the Bay Area indian summer, it’s also forest fire season. Our forests and hills, thanks to the crazy humidity, have been caught in so many forest fires. It’s a natural phenomenon, and every single year around this time, these fires have always been the headlines of the local news.
And then, there’s that scorching temperature. Damn that temperature. I wanted to enjoy a nice, relaxing weekend from yesterday till today, and yet, here I am drinking so much iced water. Even the ice itself wasn’t enough to cool me down.
My brother arrived last Saturday, but didn’t come to visit until today due to jet lag. He brought us a few souvenirs (?) from Italy: a small bottle of extra virgin olive oil with dried chili in them, a small jar of Bruschetta, and a small bottle of wine. Because their trip was on a cruise, it’s rather difficult to spend time buying souvenirs. Still, if it weren’t for my dad’s condition, Dad and Mom would’ve been on that trip. I still continue to hope and pray for some better news and results.
Another scorching headline: Ah, the presidential debates had begun. The family and I watched it.
I’ve finally created my sample cherry blossom painting on a small canvas. I posted it on my Instagram, but I gave the painting to him to show to the fiancee. I have an extra canvas, so I’m going to try doing the same painting with a darker shade of blue to represent night. I was getting used to doing watercolor, but when the fiancee gave me two free giant canvases, I knew that watercolor paint would not suit well on canvas. I took my time to go to the local art store to buy a basic set of Gouache paints. I’ll talk about that on my creatives blog much later. 😋
I ran into another PostgreSQL problem in which I couldn’t even find solutions from the class forums or even on Google. I’m already pulling my hair because I have to wait till the next day for the teacher to respond. Time zones, you know. 😞
It’s now 15 minutes till 1am. The window is open, I can feel the breeze coming in, but it’s still not cold.
