I’m looking forward to the forum. I tend avoid a lot of forums in the internet since they can be full trolls without any hobby other than trolling, LOL. Even reddit has a lot of trollish subreddit. I only go there for troubleshooting.

Nope, this is going to be a troll-less forum LOL. We start small, as always, just like what we did with XLR8 fan community before, even though it didn’t last long LOL.

But yep, I’m looking forward to it. I don’t plan on making this forum as the next Quora or anything like that, but I do miss being in an open community, let alone running it, you know? Will post more about it once it’s ready to go. :)

The pop band did not last long either. Hahaha. It was fun while it lasted. Hehe

Yup, it was. The majority went K-Pop instead hahahaha. And of course, some of us moved on with our lives LOL. But I didn’t regret putting up that forum, you know? LOL

I have a LINE account too but I hardly use it since most of my friends are not on LINE.

What kind of forum are you going to open?

An “anything” forum, mainly for artists, writers, creators, designers, developers, with some fandom sections and stuff. I’m using a beta forum script that I’m currently contributing (more like reporting bugs) on GitHub. It’s very simple, lightweight, it doesn’t look anything like phpBB or SMF or any of those “table”-based forums.

I don’t have LINE anymore, but I’m itching to install it again on my phone mainly because of the Mystic Messenger-themed stickers there (same duplicate ones as the ones used in the messenger app game LOL).

Just because there aren’t news or legal cases raised against Facebook and Instagram does not mean that they are protected in the eyes of the law if someone who is rich enough and have the spare time to sue them. I would say that the social networking sites are treading on a very thin line in terms of copyright but nobody really bother to sue them because there’s no point in doing so.

That’s something that I learnt from my class and thought it would be interesting to share to my blog readers too.

I’m also saying that there hasn’t been any reports of any copyright lawsuits against them. I didn’t mention anything about them being protected just because of that particular reason. But keep in mind, the content posted all depends on the creator. There are a lot who are very intricate with the copyrights of their work and others who don’t (thus the CC (creative commons) license on some of them), so again, what’s posted on social media all depends on the person. A lot also rely on social media for promotion of their work, which is why some are lenient.

I would say that if you are heavily picky with the copyrights of your work then I would suggest not post them on social media in the first place, and if you intend to use your work for monetary reasons, share them somewhere else like in an eCommerce service, such as Etsy, for example.

I post work-in-progress photos of my art in the making on my Instagram. They all have my signature on them even though I know they may be in danger of getting photoshopped and remove my signature. That’s all I’m saying.

Thank you very much! I have been planning to join yours too but I haven’t had the time (real life things, work, classes, etc.). I still am planning to join in the future though regardless. :)

But yes, please stay tuned. I’ll post more here (and in my other blog – The NINPOJIneous) regarding the forum’s progress.

Yey for the new forum. Taking care of one must be really hard. My experience with forums was short and unpleasant. I found it very annoying to talk with somebody there wen you could use an instant message software. I guess I am too young and I did not catch the golden years of forums. Anyways, good luck and I am sure you will do an amazing job <3

How difficult running a forum all depends on how small or big the community is. When I first started, I always started small, but eventually grew, which makes things a lot harder. In a way, it also gives me (and everyone else) an opportunity to brush up and improve on our communication skills with different types of people, as they will become a very important skill in any future job opportunities.

When you mentioned instant messaging software, were you talking about just talking with one person? Some people prefer talking through the forum, public or private, as they can be private with their personal accounts, for example. A forum would give you a chance to talk with people you’ve never met who also share the same interests as you, and vice versa, and in return, make new friends. It’s also a good place for those who don’t use social media accounts like Facebook or Twitter too.

When you do have the time, give this one a chance. I’ll update everyone when it’s about to be ready. :)

I like forums all right, but I’m not that much of a fan; I’ve signed up on a bunch of them but, aside from one, lost interest quite soon – and I wouldn’t want to do the same with yours. :(

By the way, Neon-sky.com was updated; come take a peek please. :)

I’m not expecting for everyone to be at the forum everyday, you know. Not at all. :)

But, if you do have the time, when it’s up, please come by for a visit, whether you decide to join in or not. It’d be much appreciated to know that you came by and take a peek of it.

And I’ll go check your collective. I don’t think I’ll ever change the layout/theme of mine. ^^

Well, I already signed up and cannot wait for the grand opening of it. It should be interesting and fun, like you were saying in your post.

I’m really glad that you have decided to open this forum. The one you, Mikari, and I all know about seems to be looking out for their ‘Veteran’ members. It’s really not fair how that forum treats people.

I honestly think and believe that your rules are genuine and awesome. I really love the part where you want members to work out their problems before including other members. You know my story, and I think that’s why you put that rule? I’m just a bit miffed that so many people were included about a snippet of code, before I was even informed about it. I really think that’s messed up this person had to do that. Ya know? It’s not fair to me that this person was allowed to bring others into the drama, but when I post about it, all hell breaks lose and I’m an a** for doing so. Yet, this person can bring others into it? This person also told me that they wanted it to be between them and me. Yet, from my understand they had brought others into it before contacting me. How rude and hyprocritical is that?

Regarding the rules, I just personally think that it’s a lot more mature and ethical to have any personal conflicts worked out in private without involving anyone who’s not involved in the first place. I don’t like being in other people’s business, personally, however, when things really do get escalate that I (and staff) would step in if needed.

Sometimes, when you establish your own “online identity” through your blogs/personal sites that your ego starts to inflate. And when they feel that their reputation has been “hurt,” they would feel a lot better when there are other people involved and that they’re taking their side. It happens a lot with people, and sadly, it’s not about maturity and immaturity. Even the “real grown up” adults have this kind of mentality too.

The *real* web designers and developers I know of are the ones who not just showcase their work, but also show their methods and share them with others, so that they can apply them in their own work accompanied by their own styles. Web design and development is an open community for everyone. It is never proprietary (HTML/CSS is authorized by the W3C, not a bunch of “hobbyists” who feel that “table-based links” belong to a certain group of people. If it is, I would’ve complained about that a long time ago, as I used to do that on my sites years ago too LOL). Anyway. :)

Thank you for your patience. Will update more when progress is being made. :)

Eastern Europe has a very complicated history. And at the moment, things are complicated all over the world. There are a lot of factors influencing the future of the world as we know it. Also in the last year a lot of events happened, events that will have a very big impact on our society. And things don’t seem to stop here.

I like android phones because of the opportunity for customization they give. You can play around more on Android than IOS. Also, I find iPones way too expensive :(.

Agreed with iPhones, which is why I don’t use them. ;)

I don’t like this feeling, but 2017 is going to (probably) have a lot of darker days than before. I mean, I’ve stopped paying attention to the media lately simply because I’m seeing the same old crap as a “news headline” that I can feel the world is already laughing at us for having such a crap government. (and I do mean this) Anyway… ^^

Oooh, I used to be really active in forums when I was young! I stopped during the latter years of high school though, because I got busy with other things. But I do love those days and I loved the community vibe that the forums had. I do agree about trolls though, I’ve seen so many of them and even became victim of some of them because I was young and they didn’t think my opinions mattered a lot. Lol.

Best of luck with your forum and I would love to take a look when it’s up!

Looking forward to seeing you there too, once it’s finally open!

I made a nasty booboo two days ago. I was working on my FTP and tried to delete an empty folder, only to end up deleting the entire forum instead. :( So I’ll have to start over, but luckily not much (content-wise) is there yet, so it’s not much of a problem. :)
