I think I should post something about Lent, too. It IS an important season in the country…

BTW, I think that the boy in the banner is Atsushi Otani. Am I right?

Well, regarding Lent, it’s just one of the things that I decided to write about. I wouldn’t say it’s required for anyone practicing Lent to write about it in their blogs. I guess it’s a requirement for you since you said that it’s an important season in the Philippines. In the U.S., keep in mind that not everyone’s Catholic, so I can’t really say that Lent is an “important season” in the country (as in my own country). ^_^

BTW, I think that the boy in the banner is Atsushi Otani. Am I right?

Nope, she’s female. I actually have another image of that character, but the front view. She’s not from any specific anime/manga series. It’s one of those open character illustrations I happened to find at an anime/manga illustrations gallery. More info about the banner in the Adriatastic! section.

        Ah…got it…! ^_^

Honestly, right now, OPM is so not cool. I mean, the themes, lyrics and latest kinds of songs are a nonsense, imitative, and irrelevant. I like the OPM’s before, even Eraserhead’s music and now, Sarah Geronimo. That’s one of the reason why I’d prefer J-Pop to OPM.

I loved the “old school” OPM. Since I grew up in the Philippines and all in the 80s, OPM back then was really cool and it was fun singing along with them too. I also dug 90s OPM too. Now I’m just plain out of touch. I remember the last time my mom went there to visit relatives, she was looking for the old stuff while her younger sister (my aunt obviously) thought my mom still lives in the past. Well, can’t blame my mom. We rarely listen to any OPM here in this household. We don’t even have TFC and what not because we’re not subscribed in to it (my mom sorta wants to “detach” herself from anything Filipino, while my dad is more of the traditional, more “patriotic” Filipino type.

It’s all good though. Pacquiao Night party tomorrow at home LOL.

I love Eraserheads. It sucks they broke up already. They were one of the very few Filipino artists I would seriously listen to. My brother bought a lot of Eraserheads CDs few years ago when he and his girlfriend went there (they’re party of a wedding entourage for his girlfriend’s brother’s wedding so yeah LOL). “Ligaya,” “Toyang,” and “Ang Huling El Bimbo” are still my favorite songs. <3
